What can be done?

The photograph above was one of the out-takes from a basic studio session. I cropped the image to tighten up on Dawn and fit a normal print perspective.

I created a green colored background layer to keep track of my masking. Then I outlined the mask for her body and arms cleanly. The mask around her, shoulders and the hairs over her shoulders were feathered to keep the curliness of a natural

I changed the background color to red and then applied texture to the layer. A little spotlight effect through a shadow layer created from the mask around Dawn for a bit of realism. Finally a digital “Polaroid” frame .

The Giraffe Project is another example of an extreme retouching job. This image is a composite of five different photographs shot during two trips to the Miami Zoo. One for each giraffe, another for the background with trees. I hid a rock under the tree with a bush. The last image was to replace the grass.

The resulting file was printed to a temporary adhesive vinyl. It is 63 inches tall by 33 inches wide. I took about 2 hours to apply it to the clients wall. A large picture of the image as well as photos of the installation can be found at:

Basic Rates:*

· Quick Portrait Sessions $100

· Basic sessions start at $250.

· Standard day rates: $750 for a half-day, $1,500 for a full day.

· These prices are for either a simple studio style session or a basic location shoot in the Palm Beach County area. This includes basic lighting, images captured to digital format and delivered electronically either by computer disk or online transfer.

· Portrait sessions include one of three basic print packages.

A. One 8 x10, sixteen wallets

B. One 8 x 10, two 5 x 7

C. Three 4x 6, sixteen wallets

· Digital retouching is $150 per hour, minimum of $75.
